The Ugliest Rebrand in B2B History is Here

RB2B.com used to be ugly. We just made it even uglier.

Me: “My website is VERY ugly. But I want to make it even uglier.”

Eli (No Boring Design): “Ooooookkaaaaayyyyyy … Tell me more …”

Me: I want this to feel like nails on a chalkboard. The literal anti-YC, anti-VC, anti-6Sense site.

Eli (smiling): I gotcha. I think we can deliver that. Do you want to do the standard agency process, or do you just want us to come up with something?

Me: Surprise me.

===============================

You may be asking yourself why I set out to have the ugliest website in B2B.

The answer boils down to the most important law of marketing:

BE AS DIFFERENT AS POSSIBLE.

In every way you can.

When Dave Gerhardt introduced me to Eli and said I should let No Boring Design rebrand our site, I thought my $75 Webflow template riddled with typos was “nails on chalkboard” enough.

But Eli proven me wrong.

==============================

And today I am THRILLED to announce …

In collaboration with No Boring Design …

With special thanks to Dave Gerhardt for insisting that I let Eli redo my site …

Not only is our branding confusingly 1990, we:

  • Added Demandbase’s Global, Company-Level ID

  • We’ve built deep Hubspot and Salesforce Integrations

  • We’re on a path to solve the filtering, routing, and “what now” problems

AND …

We’re turning on ads, email, SEO, and probably influencer marketing again.

Of which I will be providing up-to-the-minute “build-in-public” insights about.

SO …

1/ I hope you hate the new branding, so much so that you talk about it

2/ I hope you are willing to try RB2B again (if not today, very soon)

3/ I hope you talk to Eli if you are considering a rebrand

He does “attractive” work also. Not just this.

Let me know what we missed in QA. I’m sure tons of stuff is broken.

PS …

You may think it’s outrageous that I put my ugly mug above the fold on my website.

Want to know something even MORE outrageous?

NBD made a t-shirt with my ugly mug across the entire back of them.

Want one for FREE?

Write [email protected] an email that says “t-shirt” and we’ll send you one.

(US only. Just like the person-level ID)
