MoltSets just invented a completely new way of validating B2B emails. Here’s what’s broken about B2B email validation, and how we fixed it:
B2B email validation had a hard Spring/Summer.
Microsoft started sending out fake auths to people who weren’t actually sending, and Google has made things similarly difficult in different ways.
What’s the end result?
A larger percentage of “valid” emails are hard bouncing, and a MUCH larger percentage of invalids are ACTUALLY VALID. The first problem jacks up your deliverability, the second is straight-up leaving money on the table.
The reason MoltSets beta is seven weeks late is because we’ve been trying to figure out the best way to maximize email coverage and minimize bounces, which is what we think our audience will ultimately want. It’s not an easy problem, but we think we’re on to something.
We’re going to validate every email we deliver (as part of the $27 unlimited plan and up) append an “email grade” or “confidence score” to every email we return.
The grades are going to look like this:
A: Validated in the last 30d, with date attached
B: Known positive email activity (from our proprietary signal network)
C: Catch-all
D: Known negative email activity (soft or hard bounce)
F: Hard invalid, spam trap, abuse, do not mail, or no known activity
Correspondingly, in our FAQ, we will make the following recommendations:
A: SEND IT
B: SEND IT
C: whatever you what to do
D: we wouldn’t send, but it delivers like a catchall
F: don’t even think about sending it
We believe that the coming agentic world will demand contact data that is:
High quality
High coverage
High rate limit
Unlimited
At a throwaway price
That’s what we’re going to start letting people beta test at MoltSets in the next few weeks or so.
We have been seven weeks late on the beta because we’ve been so obsessed with delivering quality… And quality to us means a large quantity of the right emails that DON’T BOUNCE.
The wait won’t be much longer!!!
Adam
