This post by Peep Laja was so good I have to re-share it. If you're a bootstrapped founder, spend 2 minutes and READ THIS 👇

Classic business advice: "Solve big, obvious problems."

Sounds smart. It's also terrible advice for 99% of founders.

Every mega urgent problem with a huge TAM?

Already solved. Full of VC-backed companies with $100M war chests.

The bigger the opportunity, the bigger the competition.

The more money you need to win.

In established categories, the winners have already been determined.

Nobody else can break in.

But here's the thing most people miss.

If you're bootstrapped, you don't need a $1B exit.

You don't need to own a category.

You need $10M ARR and freedom.

Which means it's fine - and actually smart - to build in spaces where the truth isn't that compelling. Where you do need to tell stories.

Most entrepreneurs are in that camp.

The choice isn't between "sharp problem" and "nice to have."

It's between competing with Goliath or finding a space where you can win as David.

Choose your hard.

I absolutely LOVED this.

So much in fact, I asked Peep to join me this week on Unf*ck My Startup LIVE.

We're going to cover:

1. How to find your winning space: why it's smart to build in less-than-obvious categories to avoid competing with industry giants.

2. Leveraging B2B market research: Get qualitative insights on what your target audience thinks, needs, and wants.

3. Building a profitable business: Focus on the metrics that matter for sustainable growth, not just vanity metrics.

This is a must-attend for any founder looking to build a successful company on their own terms, even with a limited budget.

Tuesday, September 2nd @ 3pm ET.
